Where lorem ipsum comes from
The text is a scrambled extract from Cicero's "De finibus bonorum et malorum", written in 45 BC. Typesetters have used versions of it as dummy copy for centuries. It reached a wide audience in the 1960s on Letraset transfer sheets, then again in the 1980s when desktop publishing software shipped with it built in. It stays in use for one reason: it looks like language without saying anything, so people judge the layout instead of the words.
Placeholder text is a draft, not a design
